Filling Ingredients
  1. 2 Cups sliced fresh "Original Manassero Farms" strawberries
  2. 1 Cup sugar (could use less sugar depending on sweetness of berries)
  3. 1/2 cup water
  4. 3 Tablespoons cornstarch
  5. 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  6. 3-4 cups (approx.) UNCOOKED berries - set aside to fold into the cooled strawberry pie filling. Berries can be left whole, halved, or quartered depending on your preference.
Pie Crust Ingredients
  1. 1 1/2 cups flour
  2. 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
  3. 1/4 tsp. salt
  4. Stir dry ingredients together then add
  5. 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  6. 2 Tablespoons milk
Filling Directions
  1. 1 Combine first 3 ingredients and bring to boil over medium heat. Cook 3 minutes until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
  2. 2. In a small bowl combine corn starch and lemon juice. Add corn starch mixture to cooked berries, return to heat. Stirring constantly cook for an additional 2 minutes until mixture is thick.
  3. 3. Let berry mixture cool while you prep the additional uncooked berries.
  4. 4. Add uncooked berries to cooled, cooked berry mixture. Stir to coat all berries well. Set aside while prepping crust.
Pie Crust Directions
  1. Combine flour, sugar and salt in a small bowl.
  2. Add vegetable oil and milk to flour and combine with a fork until fully incorporated.
  3. Transfer crust mixture directly to pie plate and form to the pie plate with fingers (have fun)!
  4. Put pie crust in fridge and let rest for 30 minutes to an hour prior to baking.
  5. Cook pie crust in a 350 degree pre-heated oven for 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Let crust cool completely. Add berry mixture to cooled pie crust. Serve, and watch them smile.
Notes
  1. PLEASE adjust the amount of sugar you use in the filling. This recipe calls for a cup of sugar. I generally NEVER use more than 1/3 cup as our berries are so fantastically sweet. It is always easier to add sugar, you can't take it out once you've put it in. This pie crust is very tender and flakey and will fall apart when you slice it. Don't worry, one bite and no one will care!
